Ethics and Confidentiality Statement

For a complete copy of our fundraising policies, please contact ARC at development@RichmondARC.org or call 804-358-1874.

When identifying and cultivating sources of philanthropic support for the Greater Richmond ARC, we will seek, accept and steward sources that complement the mission and vision of ARC.

All information about donors and prospective donors, including but not limited to their names, their beneficiaries, the nature and amounts of their gifts and the sizes of their estates, will be kept confidential by ARC and its representatives, unless the donor grants permission to release such information. All requests by donors for anonymity will be honored, except to the extent that ARC is required by law to disclose the identity of donors.  ARC does not sell or trade its donor lists with other organizations.

We will guard against any real or perceived conflict of interest. No volunteer or staff member will seek or receive any financial or personal gain through or from his/her cultivation, solicitation or stewardship of donors or prospective donors.  Special activities and events will require review and approval by the development committee and full endorsement of the board. We will not use paid solicitors for fundraising.

We will adhere to the Donor Bill of Rights (developed by the major, national philanthropic professional organizations) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Code of Ethical Principles and Standards.
