Emergency Services Dispatcher For an individual to qualify for one of these positions, which are on AbilityOne contracts procured through a federal agency called NISH (National Industries for the Severely Handicapped), he/she must provide us with detailed medical documentation. To ensure that the Defense Supply Center of Richmond has adequate coverage to monitor, track and dispatch appropriate Police, Fire and EMS units based on information provided by telephone, Corporate Protection supervisors, radio transmissions and walk-ins. Ability to complete computer tasks related to typing of information/documents on computer system and operating computer driven radio system; working knowledge with common business computer applications (Windows, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel) Ability to work independently. Ability to handle multiple tasks and have strong organizational skills Ability to make professional decisions in an accurate and professional manner. Strong written and oral communications, with the ability to complete all required documentation. Ability to pass federal security requirements. Must successfully complete Agency provided “Basic Telecommunicator Course”. Must become NFPA 1061 Certified Telecommunicator I/II. For Positions that Require Disability Documentation
For an individual to qualify for one of these positions, which are on AbilityOne contracts procured through a federal agency called NISH (National Industries for the Severely Handicapped), he/she must provide us with detailed medical documentation that is signed by a licensed medical practitioner, specifies a diagnosis of a medical condition, and gives details on how the medical condition negatively affects the person’s day-to-day life functions. A person’s diagnosis must negatively affect day to day life functions to the point that they are determined to be “Severely Disabled”, which is a determination that our Rehabilitative Services professionals will make after a review of the documentation. These documentation requirements, and disability criteria are a requirement for us to staff and maintain the contracts. Client Counselors Full Time positions and several Part Time, PRN positions: One (1) FT positions at Camp Baker in Chesterfield, VA working Friday, 5pm through Sunday, 5pm and also PRN positions. One (1) part time position working in Richmond, VA from 1:30 to 6pm, Monday - Some of the duties include leading individual and group activities, providing personal care and creating a safe, fun and learning-focused environment for our clients. The ARC seeks individuals that have: experience of at least one year as a care provider, educator or aide for individuals (adults or children) with disabilities. CNA certification, therapeutic recreation or special education background desired. excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to produce reports. a good driving record (MUST) and be willing to transport clients in agency vehicles. Ensuring the Agency is compliant with relevant employment requirements of being a federal contractor, including the Affirmative Action Plan, EEO-1 and VETS-100 filings E-Verify compliance and appropriate recruitment practices. Ensuring the Agency meets Department of Labor requirements, including the performance of annual prevailing wage surveys, submission of biannual commensurate wage applications and the performance of FLSA testing for jobs as needed; taking the lead on responding to DOL audits and investigations. Working to minimize unemployment claims in accordance with state regulations by coaching management behavior/actions and responding to claims appropriately and in a timely fashion. Overseeing benefits administration, including the annual benefits evaluation and open enrollment processes. Developing and implementing an Agency-wide training program. Implementing and supporting safety programs, policies and claims analysis for the Agency relative to workers’ compensation, OSHA compliance and licensure/accreditation compliance. Providing employment-related counseling support for management and employees. Ensuring maintenance of all personnel files and all aspects of personnel-related practices in a confidential manner; maintaining current organizational charts. Working closely with Accounting Department on practices related to payroll. Acting as liaison with the Coordinator of Volunteers. Developing, coordinating and implementing special events related to employee social functions and other Agency events. Serving on and/or leading various internal and external committees. Determining agency status relevant to inclement weather and ensuring timely notification to employees and the community. Assuring compliance of Agency policies related to sexual harassment and discrimination; assuring Agency compliance with all HIPAA regulations for all programs. Maintaining professional visibility in the community. A successful candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or human resources management field Minimum of 10 years’ experience in personnel field. Knowledge of current human resources and labor law. Knowledge of current relevant regulatory guidelines and standards, including those of the Human Rights commission. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to ensure overall agency compliance of those regulations. Ability to function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to be responsible for own clerical support, being computer literate and able to use/learn latest computer technology. Strong supervisory experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build and maintain community contacts related to human resources field. Prior experience with succession planning.
